Page et al. provide an overview of the successful implementation of the Georgia State University chatbot, Pounce, named after the school’s mascot. The artificially intelligent chatbot provides outreach and support to GSU students with administrative requirements such as financial-aid, registration, and unpaid balances. These types of acute tasks are often barriers to student success among first-generation, low-income, and minority students.
