Georgia State Tackles Racial Disparities with Data-Driven Academic Support

Georgia State University implemented a data-driven program called GPS Advising (GPS: Graduation Progression Success) to boost student success rates. With 800 indicators identified that are correlated to dropout rates, the system is designed to catch students who may be taking a wrong turn academically or experiencing financial issues. Improving student success relies on focused data analysis and implementation of solutions through a systemic top down approach.
