How Georgia State Stopped Students From Slipping Through The Cracks

In 2003, GSU set out to improve graduation rates and restructured their advising system. The university hired professional advisors and opened a new advisement center. Advisors now receive an alert from the GPS (Graduation Progression Success) advising system which is triggered when a student exhibits any one of 800 indicators of being off track for graduation including anything from failing a quiz to not having FAFSA forms done on time.
