Part-Time Students Must Be a Full-Time Priority, Complete College America
The landscape of higher education is rapidly evolving, and so is the profile of the average post-secondary student. With about half of all college students enrolled part-time as opposed to full-time, colleges and universities may benefit from prioritizing the needs and characteristics of part-time students. Part-time students are more likely to be over the age of 25, employed part-time or full-time, have children, and come from historically excluded populations. Higher education institutions are currently not designed to effectively serve part-time students and could be doing more to reduce barriers to success.
