The 'Moneyball' Solution for Higher Education

In 2012, Georgia State University implemented a system of predictive analytics that is centered around an algorithm that identifies patterns of student performance that typically indicate a student is struggling. GSU partnered with EAB to develop the platform that could handle large sets of data to identify 800 risk factors related to student success. The data have also identified unexpected patterns such as courses that, when taken in the same semester, are likely to impede success. Georgia State University remains a leader in employing predictive analytics for improving student success programs.
