In the past, GSU has welcomed higher education professionals from more than 500 institutions around the nation and world to come to learn about the student success programs, innovative strategies, and initiatives that improve retention, progression, and graduation at our campus. The full-day workshop/event will cover a range of student success topics and more information on how to engage with the NISS. The event also includes a tour of Georgia State University's advisement center, presentations by NISS Senior Consultants, and presentations by Dr. Timothy Renick, Founding Executive Director of the National Institute for Student Success.
The event sessions will include an overview of student success programs at Georgia State, along with other topics such as (1) Partnering with Institutional Effectiveness to Increase Student Success through Data (2) Structuring Student Success: Meta Majors, Learning Communities and Academic Support (3) Improving Academic Advisement through Predictive Analytics and Proactive Interventions (4) Supporting Student Success with Chatbot Technology and AI (5) Mediating Financial Risks to Student Success: Panther Retention Grants and Just In Time Aid.

The NISS believes that colleges and universities can transform themselves and student outcomes by implementing data driven, evidence-based practices, making the attainment of degrees far more equitable across all types of post-secondary institutions.
