GSU Student Success Campus Visit: Agenda and Application
In the past, Georgia State University has welcomed higher education professionals from more than 500 institutions around the nation and world to come learn about the student success programs, innovative strategies and initiatives that improve progression, retention, and graduation at our campus. Equity gaps for historically underserved students are a critical challenge faced by the US higher ed. landscape.
GSU created the National Institute of Student Success (NISS) to disseminate its learnings and help other institutions improve their student outcomes by sharing and adapting GSU’s approach
We believe that institutions inadvertently create barriers to student success, and all institutions can improve outcomes by removing these barriers.
- Our mission is to increase the ability of colleges and universities to identify and resolve institutional barriers to equity and college completion by increasing their capacity to implement proven student-success systems and data-driven interventions and to enact systemic change to institutional processes and structures. The National Institute for Student Success at Georgia State University is hosting a full-day workshop/event that covers a range of student success topics and more information on how to engage with NISS and the resources and services we offer.
- The NISS believes that colleges and universities, with the right know-how and support, can transform themselves—and their student outcomes. Through implementing a set of proven, evidence-based student supports, we can greatly improve graduation rates and make the attainment of degrees far more equitable across all types of post-secondary institutions.
