Iris Trejo Valencia

Iris Trejo Valencia serves as a Program Advisor for the National Institute of Student Success at Georgia State University. In her role, she focuses on supporting clients through diagnostic analysis and playbook development. She also coaches clients on implementing NISS recommendations on their campuses. With over a decade in higher education, Iris has expertise in graduate and undergraduate admissions and recruitment, student success and engagement programming, and grant management. A proud Georgia State University alumna, Iris’ passion for higher education is driven by her personal experiences as a student who thrived through early NISS initiatives. Her professional journey has been dedicated to identifying and addressing institutional barriers and gaps, creating programs to make higher education more accessible for marginalized students. Iris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. Her commitment to enhancing student success is reflected in her efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
