Liz Garcia Torres

Liz is a Data Analyst at the NISS. She supports institutional partners by conducting statistical analyses, developing data visualizations, and managing complex datasets. Her work informs strategic decision-making around student retention, progression, and graduation outcomes.

Before transitioning into her current role, Liz served as a Graduate Assistant at the NISS, where she contributed to high-impact research projects focused on improving student success metrics. She applied advanced analytical techniques using Python, R, and SQL to develop scalable data workflows and uncover key patterns in student performance.

Liz earned her Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics from Georgia State University. She is passionate about using data to improve equity in education and is continually exploring new ways to communicate complex insights clearly and impactfully.
