Mary Katherine Mason serves as a Lead Educational Technology Specialist, assisting the Educational Programs and Learning Platforms team with content development and curriculum design. In addition, she contributes to the TEACH ME project, funded by the Department of Education, coordinating with Georgia State Perimeter College faculty to run a chatbot for freshmen English courses.
An experienced educator with over fifteen years of classroom experience, Mary Katherine has taught at Georgia State University, University of North Georgia, Emory Goizueta School of Business, and at high schools throughout the metro Atlanta area. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English Education, a Master of Arts in English, and is currently ABD on her Ph.D. in English. Her professional background reflects a sustained commitment to teaching, learning, and educational innovation across diverse instructional contexts. As a former Pell recipient and HOPE scholar herself, Mary Katherine deeply believes in the NISS mission to provide meaningful educational transformations for students of all backgrounds.
